Simon and Barbara's Place.  This is our "virtual place" where our friends, relations and anyone else can drop in to catch up with us and find out where we are and what we're up to.

    Where We Live

We live at Diamond Harbour, which is situated opposite Lyttelton on Banks Peninsula in the South Island of New Zealand. It is a quiet peaceful village, just a store, a garage and a pub and is a great place for boating and fishing. We are only 40 minutes drive to Christchurch or just a few minutes on the ferry over to Lyttelton.  Our house is tucked away in a very private garden with an abundance of native birds and only a 5 minute walk down to the ferry and the sea.
 
From Monday 13th February 2006 we are temporarily (?) away from home.  We are throwing caution to the wind and having a sort of working holiday in Queensland, Australia; giving the warmer weather a try. We are starting off on the Sunshine Coast, staying with friends until we find our feet, but will go where the jobs are. We don't know how long we will be away for - we have no plans, just a few ideas and we are prepared to explore all avenues.  See the "Our News" link for up to date details.
